epic family adventure

May 5, 2012 - AIYM hosted an area wide outreach called the “Epic Family Adventure – A Day of Fun, Faith and Food for the Whole Family”.  There were 800 people in attendance who came from over 120 miles to attend.  The focus was to invite families to come together and enjoy an afternoon through fun activities in order for Christian volunteers to build relationships with parents and their children.  There was a fishing tournament, archery 3-D shoot, pellet fun shoot, inflatable obstacle courses, 30 ft. rock climbing wall, gospel face painting, kickball, hamburgers/hot dogs, awards ceremony, worship music, gospel presentation and door prizes.  There were several decisions for Christ and many families sought prayer and counseling.  AIYM co-sponsored this event with area churches and Christian owned businesses as a family outreach that challenges the churched families to invite the un-churched families in their lives to attend.  This event helped build relationships outside the church with those in our local communities that may not attend church.

Cornerstone Christian School "252 club" Retreat

October 2014 - The "252 Club" is a group of young men from Cornerstone Christian School in San Angelo, TX. This group is formed around Luke 2:52 “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” There were 27 teenagers in attendance, as well as teachers and parents for an afternoon at the Magnum lodge.  Jim was asked to share a message with the boys which he delivered partly from the life of Olympian & China Missionary, Eric Liddell, and Jesus Christ. At the end of his message Jim gave an invitation and 10 young men gave their lives to The Lord!  Afterwards the teachers and parents, with tears of joy, encircled the students and prayed over them.  Texas Parks & Wildlife Hunter Education Instructor, Gary Riddle, spoke on gun safety, then allowed the kids the opportunity to test their marksmanship at the range.  Praise God for this special group of young men, these parents, and teachers!  Proverbs 22:6
